LeadSwell Setup: Checklist

A quick overview guide to help you start strong from day 1 with LeadSwell.

👋 Welcome to LeadSwell

Over 2,000 businesses have used this solution for company growth or to help their client's businesses grow. They have all been where you are now, eager to get started and anxious to see results. It's tempting to jump around, discover new things and use everything immediately. However, with a few basic steps completed first, you will have a great experience with quicker results.

💡 Please note
This checklist is designed to be completed in about an hour if you dedicate the time to it without distractions.

How did we create this guide?

We analysed our most successful partners and created a checklist detailing the most impactful steps they took in their first days with LeadSwell.

💡 Treating your setup as a project and dividing it into achievable milestones will help you see progress and impact in a much more achievable way.

The X steps featured below will take a little time, so your Day 1 might mean familiarising yourself with the product and planning out who will own each particular step and when they'll do them. Setting aside consistent time to do this will compound your efforts and you'll be going live before you know it 🚀

Setup step types

⚙️ Some setup steps below are technical, like creating packages or connecting your CRM.

✏️ Some steps are content creation and management (like updating your Business Profile or importing or creating prompts for the AI Assistant). You can always work on these if you're waiting on an Ops / Tech teammate to perform other setup steps to save time.

Step 1: Update your Settings

Update your Settings

Business Profile

The Business Profile is where you add information about your business, its customers and its services. This step is vital as it helps train the AI Assistant to return accurate messages.

Wallet

The Wallet feature allows you to add your default credit card for additional credit purchases. Even though you have a monthly credit allotment based on your LeadSwell plan, you can add more credits to your account if you have run out and need them before they are added in your next billing cycle. It can even automatically top-up your credits if you dip below a certain amount.

Integration

This section allows you to add your CRM and OpenAI API Key or create a custom webhook to send data to other platforms.

Step 2: Update the AI Tools

Update the AI Tools

AI Training

The AI Training feature is designed to help the AI learn more about your business. You have four AI training options: website, test, Q&A, or PDF. Any single option or combination will help provide data for the AI. If more information is needed, the AI will ask questions to clarify your business.

Completing this step allows you to use the ICP Suggestions feature.

Fine Tuning

Creating or editing prompts to fine-tune the AI Assistant's responses is vital to ensuring minimal time is spent prospecting. This feature is designed to help create or edit custom prompts for the AI Assistant to create Direct Message Scripts, Summaries, Intros and Subject Lines for companies or individuals.

ICP Suggestions

Not sure who you should search for or what business type the companies you're looking for might be labeled as? The ICP [Ideal Customer Profile] Suggestions feature is designed to help provide suggestions on departments you should reach out to, top titles you should focus on, top industries you should sell to, top company size to focus on and provide suggestions on which searches to conduct in a List.

Step 3: Lead Search

Lead Search

New Search

This is where you can view the available search options and select which one to start with.

Saved Lists

A List is where data is organised for a specific search type. In this section, you can create or click on existing Lists.

💡 Pro Tip
After creating a List for a specific search type, you do not have to click 'New Search' when searching for a similar business or person. You don't want to create multiple Lists for the same searches, as this will cause duplicate data and double credit usage.

Custom Labels

This feature allows you to edit existing labels or create new ones. These labels allow you to mark companies or contacts depending on your criteria. For example, this could help determine which data to send to your CRM and which you do not.

Step 4: Go live!

Remember, all great journeys start with the first step, so take your time and have fun.

Think of the next small action to move you toward reaching your goals and then take action from there.
